An Eau Claire local raved about this spot and I'm pleased to say that Nostalgic Bean lived up to the hype! I came in on a Sunday morning and there was a little line of people ahead of me but it moved pretty quickly! Interior-wise, there isn't a ton of space for seating but luckily, there are plenty of tables/chairs at The Yard Container Park that's ~40 second walk from the bakery. I got the strawberry passionfruit cruffin, chocolate almond croissant, lavender vanilla shortbread, and a latte with sugar-free caramel. Have never had the coffee but the baked goods are the bomb, no cap. Get there early if you want a cinnamon braid... they sellout fast! The ham and cheese croissant is my second go to. They also change the menu month to month, honestly everything is so good here it's hard make a bad choice. Honorable mention for the quiche.

The bakers at The Nostalgic Bean prepared a magnificent and delicious graduation cake for our reception. It was a 14”, three layer, chocolate cake with chocolate ganache, and buttercream icing. The cake was a perfectly balanced combination of dark chocolate, creamy chocolate ganache and sweet frosting. Their attention to detail and customer service were remarkable. We will definitely be coming back!

I admit it-I’m a bakery snob. Being both a transplanted Montrealer, and currently a resident of the #2 foodie city in the US, I’m particular about my baked goods! I would return to Eau Claire just for the baked goods at Nostalgic Bean. We purchased 10 bakery items and 8 macaroons for $60, and am planning on returning tomorrow to do it all again. Life is too short to eat mediocre pastries and drink burnt coffee!
