I was in the area and decided to stop at Hilltop because of the great reviews online. The interior was really cute, and I liked that they had a sunroom-style patio area to sit in as well. Service was good, and it wasn’t too busy when I went. Parking can be a little challenging to find, though. I ordered the breakfast fried rice and the chicken ciabatta sandwich. One small detail I wish had been added was a toothpick for the sandwich. The avocado on top made everything slide around quite a bit, and the sandwich started falling apart while eating it. Really good upscale diner/bar food. Edina Perkins is definitely fitting. The fried chicken sandwich was really good and unique, unlike any I've had in the cities and would definitely get it again. The tuna melt was also excellent as were the onion rings. The service was great and just made the place 5 stars along.

Edina continues to befuddle me. Despite its reputation as a city consumed by white-bread elitism, Edina has some of the best and most down-to-earth restaurants, shops, and bars in the Twin Cities. The Hilltop, somewhat west of the 50th and France downtown vibe, is the epitome of what a bar and grill should be. There are multiple TVs to watch games, the staff is fun, and the food is fantastic. I was really impressed with the quality of food. I went during the middle of dinner rush and my food was really well made and it tasted a lot better than I expected. A lot of restaurants poorly make their food especially at busy times. But they didn’t here. I had the steak sandwich and the dry wings appetizer. The food was great, the serve was great. I highly recommend.
