Ordered cheesesteaks through DoorDash for lunch at work. I got the mushroom and Swiss, and unfortunately, it had all the excitement of a wet napkin with cheese on it. The real crime scene was the price. For $26, I expected a cheesesteak with some presence. Maybe confidence. Maybe enough sandwich to make eye contact with me. Instead, it looked like something from the kids menu that had been through a divorce. Their chowder is still good, so credit where it’s due. But based on this cheesesteak, they may want to stay in their chowder lane before somebody files a missing sandwich report. The photo

Quick, quaint, exceptionally good service with even better food. It's rare that a place that attracts tourists like this lives up to the hype, Chowder House does in full. Perfectly portioned meals with what I will unapologetically say is pretty good chowder I went with the smoked salmon, wife got the clam both were excellent. The sandwiches knock it out of the park get a crab salad if you can with Dijon and sprouts on rye. If your not a weirdo like me my wife recommends either the French dip or any of their wraps. Delicious food- though we went for the pasta dishes … sadly that wasn’t an option for lunch, only after 3:30pm. We were on a 4pm flight home so 11:30 was the best we could do. Cozy spot with great service and great food. Lobster rolls looked amazing, though we got something else and the homemade desserts were yummy also!
