These are quintessential Jersey bagels: Puffy, golden, luscious! The pancakes, smoothies, and sandwiches are also top notch! Metropolitan Cafe & Bagels… oh my goodness where do I even begin. If you love BAD FOOD DO NOT COME HERE. I drove all the way from Dumfries VA (6.5hr drive mind you) just for this place because it’s that good. You’ll never understand how blissful it is to bite into such a soft sweet succulent new Bergen bagel — it reminded me when my mother would hold me closely when I was a child, the warmth of the soft pillowy bagel and the egg & cheese sitting across my taste buds while the seeds from the everything bagel perform a symphony in my mouth akin to Mozart. Disappointed. Both breakfast sandwiches were super bland, and the coffee cake must have been 3 weeks old. Just very very surprised based off the good reviews. Go somewhere else.
