The environment is really cool. Staff are friendly and give reliable recommendations. It gets very busy around noon on Saturdays. The coffee and food isn’t timed super well so you may receive one way before the other. We liked the cookie with the coffee. We preferred the French toast to the eggs Benedict. There is some cool seating in a back from with a vault door. I would definitely return here for drinks or brunch.

Last Saturday afternoon, I visited Conwell Coffee Hall, a beautiful Gilded age inspired café tucked in the heart of New York City’s Financial District. Housed inside a grand historic bank building, the space immediately impressed me with its soaring ceilings, elegant marble details, ornate chandeliers, antique lighting, and the dramatic old vault in the back. Loved our dinner here! We went on a double date on a December evening and this was the perfect spot. It is equally cozy as it is spacious, and Conwell boasts a hard-to-come-by amount of table space for New York City. The place was alive and buzzing but it wasn’t loud because there was so much space between tables. We got drinks at the bar first and the French 75s were delightfuuuuul.
