This place is packed! That's because they serve some of the most exceptional Tex-Mex food you can find. I don't normally rave about chips and salsa. But theirs is phenomenal! Chips are crispy and you can tell it's made fresh. The salsa has the right thickness, where it gives the chips a nice thick coating. The place is so packed and busy. With just 4 servers working their butt off to give some of the best service you can have in an environment like this. I love eating at a restaurant where employees are happy. We stopped at El Tapatio Mexican Restaurant on our way back to Phoenix after a family trip in Flagstaff. We ordered four dinner plates and one kids meal (hamburger with fries). Unfortunately, 3 out of the 4 dinner plates lacked flavor. The pinto beans were especially disappointing, as they had no seasoning at all, no salt or pepper. My kids even tried adding salsa just to give them some taste. The salsa itself seemed to be made from canned tomatoes, and overall the meal didn’t feel like an authentic Mexican dining experience.
