(Disappointing Pho Takeout Missing the Fresh Essentials) We decided to try Pho Dakao when our usual pho restaurant was closed. When we walked in, the first thing we noticed was a cigarette smell, which was a bit off-putting. The interior itself looked nice and seemed well-maintained, so our first impression was mixed. Finally found good pho after 6 months after moving here from the Denver area, where they're wall-to-wall. "Special" pho is flat out delicious. Catfish is fresh and tasty. Bun is great. Decor is clean and modern, a sharp contrast to the neighborhood, which isn't bad, just old. Service was exactly right.

SICK! - keep reading! This place used to be my go to spot for Pho. I always enjoyed the food, but my last experience was not great. I am not sure if the owner is cutting cost but something is going on. The girls that helped us were friendly and nice, and they’ve been there for a while but they seemed overwhelmed. Almost as is they were cooking and taking orders. The Pho doesn’t taste as good as it used, it is not as flavorful. Our crab rangoons were so small and burnt. The Pad Thai was OFF. Most excellent! Everything we ordered was super delicious! Had the sizzling Mongolian beef, vermicelli noodles with charred pork and shrimp with an spring roll in it, and a mixed vegetable rice noodles. Thai tea was delicious too! A full bar at this restaurant. Plastic water cups though, a little sad, but the food was amazing!
