Service is absolutely awful. I had to ask politely and constantly for simple items like water and napkins. One of the servers told me “idk what to tell you” when I kindly asked we can get service for our coffee refills and walked by me. There was a manager duty but seemed busy with bussing and running around vs checking in on guests and service standards. Overall did not seem to value the guest experience. Food is okay standard diner breakfast food.

I have been to the other locations and all their food is delicious. Yet, at this location the service is awful. The server only came to the table 3 times at most. I had to flag her down for refills. I asked for the check and a box. I waited about 10 mins for her and she never showed up. The restaurant was not fully packed. We were charge a gratuity fee which in my opinion she did not deserve.

Went there on mother's Day she took our orders our waitress gave our table to another waitress when she served us our food she then let us know they ran our of eggs but tried to still give my son a large plate of hash browns and that was all they had for his order he ordered breakfast I told her to take the hash browns back he didn't want them if that all the breakfast he gets she acted a little mad so me and my daughter n law ate without him and he had to go across the street to get his meal then ate it at home it was disappointing had they told us when we ordered we would have went somewhere else and ate together.

Homestyle family diner with typical offerings. Especially crowded for weekend breakfasts and dinner most nights. Our visit on an unusually non-busy Saturday night the service was surprisingly slow. Waitress was very friendly and there was plenty of staff on hand to take care of the few tables they just seemed to take their time waiting on everyone. Not expensive but not a particularly economical meal but the food is ok.

I came in early for breakfast with my son today 6-8-21. It wasn’t very busy and the cashier said we could sit anywhere we wanted. My son ordered the lumberjack breakfast. It is huge. It is: scrambled 3 eggs, big slab of ham, 2 pieces of sausage and bacon, large amount of hash browns and 2 very large pancakes. He loved it, but couldn’t eat it all. I ordered hamburger patty with onions and salsa, 3 eggs, hash browns and biscuits and gravy. Very big meal, I couldn’t eat it all, but boy was it good. Excellent breakfast here. Spencer’s is definitely in the top ten list of great breakfast stops in Bakersfield.

I used to love this place, but I can't say that anymore. Ordered new york steak and eggs, with potatoes and bell peppers, emphasizing allergy to onions when ordering, and an omelet with tritip breakfast. Steak was over cooked and so tough I couldn't chew it, potatoes had onions that they tried to pick out or something because they missed a bunch. When I wanted to trade for hashbrowns, I could hear the cook yelling and cursing, my wife's omelet tasted like yesterday's meat, the hashbrowns tasted like they are cooked in large quantities and reheated in old grease. Our waitress was nice, but we won't be back. I only gave 3 stars for service due to another female that took my potatoes back was not customer service friendly, our waitress was great.
