Review - Staggering Ox - 12/10/2025 For our ROMEO Club (Retired Old Men Eating Out) adventure today we celebrated our second “Second Wednesday, Second Chance” meal. You might recall that the last time we visited the Staggering Ox back on August 1st, we were disappointed because they stopped serving breakfast right as we got there. It has been years since I went to the staggering ox. Absolutely loved going back and remembering old friends some have since passed away where we would get lunch and talk about life. Good food and very unique way of making a sandwich. Appreciate it and it will be a while, but until next time keep doing what you are doing. These things are delicious.

I enjoyed the fun names and fillings of their sandwiches, I also liked the concept of a sandwich in a bread shaped can. However, the execution isn’t fully there. The bread is too soft on the outside and lacks any other texture other than soft; if you like that then you will enjoy these sandwiches, but personally I enjoy a nice crust on my sandwich. Especially when it is labeled as “French bread” I was expecting some texture. I ordered the heartbreak with salami added. The filling was very pleasant, however I didn’t see any artichoke hearts which is why I ordered it, so I was mildly disappointe

The online ordering made it super simple when we were traveling through town. Having that option will increase our likelihood of using this location more when we travel. Sandwiches and quesadilla were yummy. I love the sauces.
