Absolutely delicious! From the first bite, I was hooked. The jalapeño smash burger was juicy, packed with flavor and was everything I expected it to be and more on top of that! Gorgeous, welcoming environment with activities to entertain kids while you order/wait. I cannot believe the number of items they make in house! My friend got the Country BBQ burger with custom black tea. I got the Impossible Mushroom burger and a Cherry Blossom smoothie with an immunity spark shot and it was just *perfect*. Wonderful staff who are clearly very caring, focused on providing quality food for everyone!

Essential is one of my favorite places to support. Their menu is amazing. I’ve been vegetarian/vegan for many years. This is the first cafe that offers absolutely everything we could ask for. If you're in the mood for fresh juices, smoothies, açaí bowls, or vegan bites, this gem in downtown Kankakee is a must visit! It’s so cozy and welcoming. We ordered the Green Goddess and Morning Sunshine, and both were absolutely delicious! They also have a variety of vegan food options, and although we didn’t order any, another customer ordered the impossible mushroom and it smelled AMAZING 🤤.
