A charming café with a wonderfully cozy atmosphere; the dark interior actually adds to the character rather than taking away from it. The coffee was delicious, and the pastries were a surprisingly pleasant discovery , genuinely better than expected! One sweet touch: I ordered a simple pie and it came beautifully presented with a salad and sauce on the side, which was a nice surprise. However, I’m knocking off a star for the tables - they were visibly dirty and no one was wiping them down. I ended up cleaning mine myself with napkins, which wasn’t a great feeling. NOT BLACK WOMAN FRIENDLY! Now while the staff themselves are nice people, the owner is very rude and prejudice! I have frequented here often, and watch how he will say hi to every guest except the black ones? I've tried to not let one bad apple ruin the bunch, however today was the last straw. I often get anxiety attacks, I step for air and prop the door open so I could return to my stuff. One of my favorite spots in Long Beach, so far. Just a roomy, chill cafe with a library aesthetic. The coffee is fine, the food is warm and made at your request. They also have a variety of pastries. There's free WiFi (with purchases) and there's plenty of electrical outlets for patron use.
