The Shack

We visited the Shack at 8:30, diner is packed but was able to get a seat right away. We ordered an Egg Benny, the Mess, and some sides of scrambled egg, corn bread and corn beef hash. The food was amazing overall, especially the grilled corn bread. All dishes came in generous amount, but the home fries was a little bland. Good service in general, just a little loud with the table behind us making laughing the whole time slightly loud (but all good at least it means they’re happy!)

Breakfast was good, quite large, too. I had the Denver omelet with home fries. My son had the kitchen sink & enjoyed it. We were so full, we didn't eat lunch that day. I liked the decor of antiques.

Came to CT for a visit with family. The day we were heading home my mother in law said let's go to the shack for breakfast. she said she goes often and its very good. She wasn't lying. you can taste the love put into the food here. Breakfast was so good. cornbread was the best cornbread I've ever had. Portions are huge. And Food came out pretty quickly. I will most definitely be back to the shack next time we visit my mother in law.
