This Review has been WAY TOO OVERDUE. I’ve been coming to this place for a few months, it’s my go to if I’m going to finish up work or just not think of anything and enjoy the coffee they have which I must say is REALLY REALLY GOOD, I’ve had like 70% of their menu and each drink just hits the spot better than the other, Americano? Hits, lattes? HITS HARDER, new drinks like their walnut latte? Oh you bet it’s fire. Their VTM coffee tastes very very authentic as well and I’m very obsessed with this place. When you enter and specially in the morning they’re usually busy so you do have to stand in the line to order or go straight and pick up the order online if you’ve made one online. They’re very very fast and efficient! Every single time I go Alex always takes good care of me, we’re pretty much best friends at this point! On top of that, Kevin and Barbra are also extremely friendly and I really love their attitude in the past few months that I’ve been going to this place I HAVE NEVER

Came here and tried their Uji Einspanner matcha. The price for the drinks was standard, around $7-8 for the large drinks and about a dollar less for the regular. The foods, however, were on the pricier end for the quality and nature of their products. The interior was well-kept and had a modern, millennial meets GenZ vibe. As for the drink itself, my matcha had a nice smooth, but thick consistency. However, there seemed to be something missing. The matcha lacked flavor and tasted more like lightly flavored milk rather than matcha. I have, though, heared many great things about their VTM coffee—which is said to have a much stronger flavor and taste, so perhaps I just ordered the wrong drink. I would say overall though, through my honest and fair interpretation, my experience was not disappointing but quite mediocre and—contrary to the words pressed onto the wall— nothing but ordinary.

Café Next to Trader Joe’s with Nice Vibes… Just Don’t Order My Drink unless you are really a cinnamon flavor lover. This Vietnamese café chain has a chill vibe, cute merch, and bags of their own coffee beans for sale. I skimmed the menu and out of pure curiosity and ordered the Spicy Honey Latte. Let me just say… I absolutely did this to myself. The cinnamon was so strong it bullied the honey and the coffee right out of the cup. I took a sip and immediately started questioning my life choices. Been meaning to try blk dot and it did not disappoint (drink wise)! The first time I went was the afternoon so I got the jasmine iced tea with sea salt foam and it was perfect - not too sweet, great jasmine flavor and the foam made it deliciously creamy. Since then someone mentioned they had strong coffee (I didn't realize it was Vietnamese at the time) so I knew I had to try it. They were not lying! With 4 shots in a large drink this is my type of place, I couldn't even finish the original Vietnamese coffee that I ordered, which doesn't happen often. I also got the bacon egg muffin which wasn't much to write home about. Points for it being a good size, but not much flavor. Two of my coworkers have tried their spicy honey oat milk latte which one said was too sweet, so the other got half sweet but wasn't super fond of the spicy aftertaste. All in all definitely recommend and would absolutely go back.

Not a place to go if you actually like good coffee or espresso. I’m guessing that most of their drinks have enough sugar and milk to cancel out the horrid flavor of the espresso. The espresso probably doesn’t matter to most people so I get why most people like it here. I was excited to try a place close to work that offered espresso, but that excitement was quickly extinguished by the undrinkable shot produced by their $60,000 Effersys machine (These machines are supposedly capable of espresso that can rival a trained barista, but if you don’t know how to program the machine and keep the settings optimized and take the time to do it then it’s a bad as someone with no clue how to make espresso). I might go back and try again in case I just caught them on an off day, but I’m not getting my hopes up.

I come here regularly, and the experience can be very inconsistent depending on who’s working. Some of the girls at the front are warm and welcoming, they greet you with a smile and say good morning, which really starts the day off right. Unfortunately, others just stare at you when you walk in and immediately ask if you’re picking up without any greeting at all. One of the first things I learned working in customer service was to greet every person with a smile, no matter what mood I was in. That’s the bare minimum when you’re in a customer-facing role. A simple good morning and basic kindness can completely change someone’s experience, especially first thing in the morning. I really do love the coffee here, which is why I’ve kept coming back. But I’ve been coming long enough to notice this pattern, and it honestly makes me question sometimes if the experience is worth it.
