Neighborhood diner with a little of a dive feel. We were able to get a table for 6 pretty quickly. Our waiter and really all of them were busting their humps. The all looked like they have been doing this for a very long time. Food came pretty quickly. Everyone was very happy with their food. Western Omelets, griddle cakes, egg biscuits, but the hit that everyone had to try was the stuffed French Toast. Massive and delicious. Not from Memphis, 1st visit, but wouldn't be surprised if this is a Neighborhood staple. Must try.

My first time visiting under new ownership. We enjoyed the same great service as always with Bert and while I appreciate the care that was taken in preserving the old-timey diner ambiance while renovating, the changes to the menu do not seem to be for the better. I ordered the country fried steak breakfast plate. The steak was salty, the over-medium eggs were barely over-easy, and the biscuit was not good at all. The much-touted honey butter smelled rancid. Portions were decent for the $15 price, but the flavors and execution just aren’t there.

When in Memphis Dear Foodies you must stop by and have breakfast or lunch at the beautiful Barksdale’s. I enjoyed my meal as you can see and the atmosphere was inviting along with the staff. I met the Owner I believe and he was as dedicated to the place as you could ask for. I enjoy the southern food and the good attitude. Thanks Barksdale’s for making my trip to Memphis more delightful!

Been around me last two years then I’ve probably bragged about Barksdale’s. It’s so good. Love the team there. If you check their socials it’s clear they enjoy their work and customers. The good is excellent as well. Have gone for Mother’s and Father’s Day the last couple years. Check out the weekend special Grand Slam Top to bottom: Spicy Fried Chicken (Hattie B’s ain’t got…on this!) Bacon Scrambled eggs Hashbrowns Two mini pancakes.
