Solid Mexican breakfast spot! I had the machaca and coffee. Service was genuinely friendly and efficient, with plenty of coffee refills. The spicy salsa was perfect with the dish. Chips were forgettable, but appreciated. The midmorning vibe was great with an open front door letting in fresh air, chatty locals, and lots of sun. Looking forward to returning to try more.

I have been going to Tio Chilo’s for the last three years and I have to say they never disappoint! The food, drinks, ambiance and service is always top notch and on point! This little family owned restaurant is a gem therefore if you’re in the Mission District area in San Francisco you must visit this spot! Make sure to ask for Liz, the owner so she can make you her famous margarita flights!

I had the Lamb Shank, served with refried beans and rice with plenty of tortillas. The Quesabirria was cheese and served with broth that needed to be a bit hotter. Both were flavorful and served on time. The place is very clean and the bathroom is spotless. Great attentive service all around.
