This was my second time trying Don Tomas. Although I enjoy the food, I'm not a fan of the salsa. It has a heavy oregano taste that I'm not a fan of. Canned tomatoes, onions, cilantro, & oregano. It's not good but neither is most Mexican restaurant salsa I've had in Louisiana. They just don't get it. I forget what I had the first time but it was really good. For this lunch, I rolled with the Grilled Chicken Chimichanga. I enjoyed it. Service has always been excellent here.

I love this place so much that I have become a regular. I believe they have the best margaritas around at a great price. I recommend the Molcajete heavily; I get it with just queso. The 2 people I added in this post are the ones who I see working the hardest and ensuring everything gets taken care of at my table and others ASAP! Side note: I really don’t enjoy the salsa. Wish it was blended and fresher. That’s about all though.

Being vegan, Mexican restaurants are typically easy to go to with friends and family and customize. I had veggie fajitas & the vegetables were amazing! I even took them home to reheat. It was easy to ask that dairy be removed and accommodated. While there we ordered 2 for 1 margaritas- great value, especially for the size! I will say stick to traditional - as the flavors are syrup based and not the best. The BEST guacamole ever! I ordered the table side made fresh and was ecstatic! Flavorful and so fresh! My family & I would return.
