I stopped by The Ministry while in D.C. for a work conference, and it ended up being one of the highlights of my trip. The space is beautifully designed with plenty of seating—perfect whether you want to settle in and get some work done or just relax and chat. The menu had so many great options across breakfast, bakery, and coffee. I have to shout out the iced matcha—it was easily one of the best I’ve had. And the avocado toast with a poached egg was so good I ordered it twice during my trip. What really stood out, though, was the atmosphere. The staff was incredibly friendly and welcoming,

This place was highly recommended to me by a friend who lived in the area for years. I was staying at the Hyatt for a conference, and asked about good coffee in the area. Immediately, she said, “Skip any chain and go to The Ministry!” I had an amazing breakfast of fancy toast with fruit and a drip coffee. The homemade bread was excellent! Very filling. Coffee superb. I’ll be coming back throughout my trip, for sure!

I was not expecting this place to be what it is when I walked in. I was expecting to sit down and do homework without ordering anything because I’m not a coffee person, but this place has more than coffee. And they offer more than just baked goods! The atmosphere is great for getting work done or catching up with a friend. Also, the staff are all bilingual Latinas who were very kind and welcoming to someone not from the area at all! Highly recommend this coffee shop.

My go to coffee place whenever I am near Capitol Hill. Great coffee- milk is always silky! Today I tried a new treat. It is a chocolate corn flake almond cookie. Tastes even better than it sounds!
