We went in to Empress M for a quick bite in the late afternoon on a Sunday. Environment is always welcoming and leads you into the mood for Chinese cuisine. The restaurant seats a lot but there was only one other 2 top in the entire restaurant. Food is served family style and is meant to be shared. Which is good because it can become pricey. Our service was friendly and efficient. We had the Sichuan Calamari to start and enjoyed the freshness along with the nice batter with hints of spice that traveled around each bite. Authentic dim sum made by head chef from Hong Kong! The quality of ingredients and craftsmanship are top notch. The egg tarts are a pleasant surprise! The tart is authentically flaky and taste very fresh (not like the ones sitting around stale ad oily). They do the dim sum in cart style. Service could be slow sometimes but the staff are incredibly helpful. The wine prices are very fair. Excellent Riesling selection, which is fitting for Cantonese food. Will return again.

Empress M was a wonderful experience! We reserved a beautiful private dining room and they were very accommodating of all our needs. We had a custom menu and the chef nailed every dish. Surprisingly good dim sum and other delights are found here. While Napa is a foodie town, Chinese cuisine is typically not on the list of top restaurants. Be that as it may, Empress M, is the only place to go for authentic Chinese food. We came for lunch and ordered dim sum, eggplant, and calamari. It was all very filling.
