Coming back from Southbury, this is an easy stop off of 84. There's a large shopping plaza across the street, so no issues parking. I got the 2 famous dog combo that comes with a large fountain bevvie and fries or onion rings. I got the rings. Hot dog had a great snap to it, was surprised. The meat sauce is quite good- i like how they cooked the onions a bit (maybe in the sauce) so they aren't raw. Sometimes raw onions can be a bit too sharp. This was better than most coney island dogs I've had, which it is very reminiscent of. It was great, I can see why they won a local competition

Friendly people. I remember going to CL in t he early 70's. Love your chili dogs with everything. Got frozen pints to take back to SC. Please don't ever go out of business! Came up to CT for 50th PHS reunion. Love y'all.

Capitol Lunch is a Connecticut classic. If you love hot dogs, Connecticut lore, or both, this is the place for you. I grew up making the trip to New Britain with my Pepere and my dad just to go to Capitol Lunch. They have local Rosol’s hot dogs and that kind of chili sauce you’ll try to recreate but never will be able to get just right.
