Cafe Amelie is a small place serving up big flavors right in the French Quarter. We had a reservation there during the last weekend of Mardi Gras and we are glad we decided to go here. Checking in was very quick and we were able to be seated without our full party, which we were very grateful for. Our server was patient and understanding with our party size and our requests for changes to our dishes. Ordering was quick and the food came out promptly even with a busy restaurant. Everything we had was satisfying and delicious. Atmosphere is lovely, a little tight so reservations are probably the best route. The shrimp and grits were one of the better ones we’ve tried in our trip. The waffles of the chicken and waffles were soggy from the sauce, but the sauce is delicious so that makes up for that. The bread pudding was very bready and filling but delicious.

The hype is absolutely real! Café Amelie was the perfect start to my birthday weekend. From the beautiful atmosphere to the incredible food, everything felt special. The gulf shrimp and grits were hands down some of the best I’ve ever had seriously it was rich, flavorful and perfectly cooked. The gumbo was comforting and full of flavor and the cucumber lemon drink was so refreshing in the New Orleans heat. Such a dreamy little spot with amazing service, delicious foodand the prettiest ambiance. Already thinking about the next time I’ll come back. ✨
