Couldn’t give them 5 stars since there are no ceramic mugs for their coffee. I mean I have learned to drink coffee from a plastic cup when on the go, but when I sit down to enjoy my coffee I prefer it to be in a real cup. The coffee was really good. They were toasting some coffee beans and I even bought a freshly roasted coffee beans from Ethiopia, which I found super!!

I love Herst coffee. The flavor is unmatched. It's the closest thing I can get to European espresso in the U.S., so I make a particular priority to get a cup whenever I'm in Newport Beach. Service is friendly, fast, and consistent, and I love the plentiful outdoor seating.

Herst Coffee Roasters in Lido has a great location, and their drip coffee tastes fresh and quite good. However, a few things really took away from the experience. The automated phone message says the first hour of garage parking is free, but it turns out it’s only free after validation — and surprisingly, they refused to validate. The café was very crowded and loud, and several tables were not very clean. Overall, good coffee and location, but the noise, cleanliness, and parking situation were disappointing.
