I’ve been craving the crisp from a gyro for a while and came back in since I was going to be in uptown anyway. Saw they had a garlic chicken ‘sandwich’ from the last time I had been here, with some French fries inside. Very nice people! If you’re like me and worried to give something new a try here’s what to expect. I would call pita a “tortilla like” texture but slightly thicker and substantial without being doughy, that easily holds in sauce without getting soggy or falling apart. The gyro meat is salty and crispy like it was cut off a spit into thick pieces. The sauce for the regular gyro

I love The Rock, good food at decent prices. I love their baba and hummus. It almost always is perfect! The Gyro special is good as well. Their fries are battered and fried, have have the best texture around! Overall a great pick for a lunch stop if you are around the campus or passing through! Occasionally you'll get the odd day when something just is off about the food, sometimes the baba is super bitter, other times the Gyro meat is just lacking some flavor. The tzatski usually helps round it out though. The campus quick server vibe isn't my favorite, and frequently the floors are sticky

Visiting from out of town. I’ve had many chicken gyros in my life. With sadness, I do have to name this the worst chicken gyro I’ve ever had. It was like if a chicken sandwich was put onto a pita. The entire full pickle slices stuck in the sandwich was off putting. The chicken was clearly very processed. The garlic sauce was good but way too much was put on leaving me with only sauce in my mouth after I took out the chicken because the texture was just so off. My boyfriend got a burger. I’m not normally a fan of gyros, but for some reason I was really craving one. Initially we walked into the online/call in pick up only, to learn the restaurant is on the other side. I ordered a gyro and the sweet corn bites - my gyro had peppers even though I didn’t order them, I don’t like them and learned I got charged extra for them 😕 The meat was very tender and the flavor was great with the gyro. The sweet corn bites were unique and hot. I ordered the lady fingers for dessert, they were so good I only wish they were bigger so they lasted longer 🤣
