Everyone recommends Spoken Cafe as a higher quality option for coffee in the area. Been here a few years and absolutely agree, delayed 5-star review. Incredibly friendly staff, great vibe. Lots of great food options but I confess I'm not sure I've had anything. The coffee is that great, ambiance is incredible. Yes, smaller space available with outside seating but Montrose isn't crazy busy for coffee. Small normal amount for refill not a bottomless, but arguably the quality is so high, one cup is all you need! ;')

While visiting family was really happy to check out this gem of a cafe! Staff are fantastic, and delivered top notch on the food and coffee. Love the space and the community that came and went as time passed. Plenty of options for everyone to choose from even with dietary restrictions, leading me to the shelf of Jams and jellies offered next to handmade crafts and some bagged teas and beans. There are books set up on the walls, companies by a lovely selection of art process to keep your eyes wandering around. Definitely will be returning here in the future. Bravo!

This place is the real deal. The grits are out of this world, creamy, rich flavor, with cracklings and chili, it just fed my soul in a way that normally only mom’s cooking can. I highly recommend the grits. Seeing the turkey was brined in house I went with that and was delighted at how flavorful and moist the turkey is, they pull it like pulled pork, on top an everything bagel, so chewy and crunchy, is divine to dip in the cheesy grits. My husband and I are Louisiana transplants. This cafe offers great Louisiana food and atmosphere, combined with locally sourced ingredients and and sustainable practices. I had their decaf drip coffee which was so good. My husband has the Boudreaux breakfast sandwich on an everything bagel which had great boudin flavor! I had the cheesy grits with scallions and chile crunch. The consistency was closer to polenta than grits, but that isn't a complaint. They were delicious and filling. We took home a quart of their chicken and andouille gumbo and can't wait to try it. We'll definitely be back an
