Visiting for our anniversary and wanted to mix up our dinners. Thai is my go to back at home so my standards are pretty high and tried my standard pad see ew, like a chow foon/fun noodles with egg and Chinese broccoli. Restaurant was pretty empty when we entered but filled up fast. Really small eating space with not very comfortable tables. A cost and quick meal in the heart of Boston 👍🏽 Kala Thai offered all the normal Thai classics with the addition of quick service and tasty food. I wouldn't say it blew me away, but offering great food at fair prices is 5 ⭐ for me. We had a starter (Chicken Satay) and two entrees (customized fried rice and pad see ewe). The chicken Satay, which appeared to use chicken thigh, was amazing and I highly recommend it. The pad see ew and kapow dumping were really good, but the atmosphere was bad. Window looks out on to line of people, and the door not only was difficult to open but closes really loudly. Basically people coming in and out to wait for a table and slamming loudly every time was giving me a headache since I was sitting nearby. I’ve never in my life had an experience like that at a restaurant, really killed the vibe, and unfortunate given the really good food.
