I don’t typically leave negative reviews, but this experience left us feeling genuinely uncomfortable. We accidentally ordered a sushi roll that contained avocado. It was our mistake we simply overlooked it on the menu. When we realized it, we politely asked if it would be possible to substitute it for another roll or, if not, we were perfectly willing to pay for it and order something else. Instead of a simple explanation, a manager came over and immediately asked, “Did you read the menu?” The interaction felt unnecessarily confrontational over what was an honest mistake. Sake Lounge on Strang Line Rd in Overland Park was such a great find. I had the udon noodles with beef and the fried dumplings (gyoza), and everything was absolutely delicious. The noodles were flavorful and perfectly cooked, and the gyoza were crispy on the outside and tender inside. I also had the plum sake, which paired beautifully with the meal. The atmosphere is relaxed but stylish—perfect for a date night or a laid-back evening out. Great food, great drinks, and a really nice vibe overall. I’ll definitely be back.
