RASHMY DELVA★★★I recently went to Maxine’s on Shine for a brunch date, and it had been years since my last visit. My date made reservations, which I highly recommend because it does get busy. We got lucky and found street parking nearby, which was a plus. It was a hot day, so we chose to sit inside where they had a nice live performance going on the atmosphere was definitely a vibe. Our waiter, Steve, was great and attentive, starting us off with water right away. I ordered the Sangriato, which was pretty good. For food, my date ordered the steak & eggs and I went with the shrimp omelet, both served with p

The reason this is only a four star review is because they have one on those silly 3% credit card surcharges that was not communicated before I paid my bill. I get it, the credit card companies charge small business to process transactions, but that is literally the cost of doing business. Folks may have different feelings towards this practice, but it left a really poor taste in my mouth the way it wasn't communicated and soured what would have otherwise been a pleasant brunch experience. Michael Faucher★★Finally got to make it over here for a meal with Bite 30 event. Really left unimpressed and underwhelmed. Portions for appetizers and dessert were a joke. Main meal decent size. We’ve never left a Bite 30 still hungry. Pasta dishes had good flavor. I had the steak meal. Glad I ordered it medium rare so that when it came out past medium I could at least still eat it. Server never came back so I could show him until we were done. It was charred well but lack flavor or seasoning. Even a bit of salt would have made a huge difference.
