I visited BAES Fried Chicken in downtown Portland for lunch. I was met by very welcoming staff and a clean restaurant. I ordered a 2-pc chicken tender basket with waffle fries and BBQ sauce and added an extra side of mac n cheese and honey mustard sauce. I was blown away with the food; it was delicious and enjoyed a lot! The chicken tenders were cooked to order, hot, crispy, and well seasoned. The waffle fries were also a hit! I loved that they too were cooked to order, they were sizzling hot and crispy, also well seasoned! Lastly, the mac and cheese was perfect, I believe it’s also made fresh

Cute little place that was clean and had nice decor in an old brick building. Really good fried chicken sandwiches or tenders that you can get with 5 different sauces on them. The chicken was tender and crispy and tasted really good. But the sandwich was a little small for $15 dollars and the waffles fries were too soft and needed a little more time in the frier to be crunchy, IMHO. There were only two people working and they did a great job! Super nice and friendly, very helpful as well. I'd definitely go back for a sando here when I'm close to Old Town.

Some of the juiciest, yummiest seasoned chicken tenders ever. The waffles fries and fry sauce were also fantastic. I was worried I wouldn’t like the mac and cheese because it’s saucy rather than cheesy, but even that was super good. Overall, delicious food for a reasonable price with a decent atmosphere (could be cleaner). Also great playlist!!

I got the deluxe chicken sandwich, got Nashville style and it was great. Spicy, delicious, one of my favorite chicken sandwiches I've had in Portland. The sandwich was pretty big as well. I got a side of Mac n Cheese as well. The Mac n Cheese was a bit over salty for me, but it had a great pepper kick and I did enjoy it. The sides are pricey, so i only got one, but I would have liked to try others. I am looking forward to trying their other chicken styles in the future and other sides.
