Ernie's is a Roanoke institution that I wholeheartedly support. The food, service, and environment are what a hometown diner should be. The staff is attentive and welcoming, food is nothing fancy in the best of ways, and I feel welcomed every time I walk in. I'll keep visiting until the day I die!

How can someone mess up a pancake? This place has the answer. Worst breakfast from a restaurant in my opinion. If it wasn't for the price, know what for the price it still was a waste of time and money. My friend got the sausage gravy with biscuit, gross. Sausage looked under cooked and gravy was like paste. In my opinion do not use the stomach space on Erine's. The service was not pleasant either, which is a shame because the food reflects the attitude we received. Do not waste your time and money here, I know you can cook better at home than this place.

Stopped by Ernie’s for breakfast this past week and was pleasantly surprised. The food was good, the prices were unbeatable, and the service was right on point. No frills, just a solid spot to start your day. I’ll definitely be back next time I’m in the area.

Great breakfast spot with a long history. Coming from a Roanoke native, this restaurant offers consistency and simplicity. The menu is refined so never much of a wait. Staff is always friendly and positive. No need for reservations but it’s a small and talkative atmosphere so the place fills up quick in the mid morning hours. The chefs do well and the food is fresh, on occasion there is mistakes, i believe just from inexperience or high demand during busy times.
