Stopped into Cedar on Monroe Ave and was seriously impressed. It’s a small Lebanese spot where the focus is clearly on the food, and they absolutely nail it. I ordered the gyro plate, which came with hummus and a Greek salad. The hummus alone deserves a mention because it was SO GOOD. Smooth, flavorful, and easily some of the best I’ve had locally. The gyro itself was excellent too, well seasoned and very satisfying. My wife went with the shawarma plate, which also came with hummus and a Greek salad, and she was just as happy with her meal. Exquisitely delicious food! Fresh ingredients, clearly good quality, healthful, generously portioned, all for shockingly affordable prices. It's a very quick/casual place, but we did dine in. The atmosphere was ok, not ideal but better than many places that charge far more money. No music to interfere with conversation. Plenty of seating. Bathrooms were serviceable, but gendered despite being single stall (totally unnecessary) and while they're probably big enough for a wheelchair, you can't actually get into them with a wheelchair, so that's moot, sadly. Service was fine, place seemed clean.

The lamb shawarma plate came with great portion size and super tender meat, yummy hummus and veggies, and fresh bread! Great fast service and loved the meal. The cheese manakeesh was rich and filling. The zaatar manakeesh had a super strong and salty flavor fyi because of how much zaatar was on it—we ate it together with the cheese one.

Such an amazing experience! Must try place Tried chicken platter and chicken shawarma. You can see them cook the food right in front of you and the food is absolutely fresh the hummus, the lettuce, olives, even garlic sauce was real and fresh. The food was good quality and prices are reasonable for the serving portion. Loved every bite.
