I could tell this is a local's favorite. From the moment I walked in, the waitress talked with everyone about more than just their food order. She also knew each person that came in the door. Parking is a little tight especially in the morning when the food delivery trucks are coming in. The interoir is race inspired which matches perfectly with restuarant name. First impressions walked right in and was greated and I and informed to sit anywhere we would like. Service was fast got our drinks in a blink of an eye. We got the fried pickles and they are home made 😋 its hard to find good deep fried pickles. Also got the chicken Philly 🐔 and my other half got the chopped BBQ sandwich we both got wedges and it was delicious. Can't believe I have lived here in Salisbury for almost 10 years and it was my first time eating there. Would recommend giving it a try!

I was in Salisbury on a work trip and wanted to eat some authentic Carolina bbq, so I tried Checkered Flag BBQ. It’s very much an authentic home town feel and the food was delicious. I had pork bbq with baked beans, coleslaw, fried pickles (which I had never had) and hush puppies, of course! The hush puppies were probably the best I’ve ever tasted. My service was great and my server, Ginger, was especially kind and helpful. She made great suggestions and helped my visit be really nice. I will definitely come back when I return to Salisbury! We live 45 minutes away in Charlotte and it was near lunch time when we got in the area, so we decided to go here. The food was excellent. We both got a BBQ sandwich, split a fry and I ordered a hotdog. No, I didn't need it. The picture looks funny as I was attempting to split the footlong in half.
