Reservations recommended as this quaint place gets full fast. Food - a new experience for your tastebuds. There is thoughtful intention behind the flavor and texture pairings. We sat at the bar, which is very small and only had 3 seats off to the side, which was perfect for us. Michelle, the bartender was super friendly and a great mixologist, she did not stop. She was the only bartender making drinks for the entire restaurant. I asked her to surprise me with a drink with either vodka or rum. She made me a Fist of Fury. It was delicious! We ordered the brisket egg roll...so good! We also ordered Gulf Shrimp & Noodles, and the Crispy Karaage Chicken. Both were great. Overall a pleasant experience.

Back in San Antonio and first stop, Tokyo Cowboy and dinner was served! After settling into our Airbnb, Tokyo Cowboy came up highly recommend. I’m glad they had room for us but, it’s still safe to make reservations. We did not know they are a tapas style restaurant, but that didn’t deter us. And we were pleasantly surprised at the size of their “tapas”. What we ordered was enough for two people to share. Dumplings - 9/10 Gulf Shrimp & Noodles - 10/10 Blistered Green Beans - 10/10 Ramen - 9/10 Service was great. It’s a casual atmosphere, but perfect for an intimate date night.

Overall enjoyed the restaurant! My only complaints were the bao buns were dry, lacking in sauce and to only having pickled things on top caused the bun to taste dry! My partner said the crab roll didn’t taste much different than any other. The meals weren’t bad overall but we expected a bit better for flavor! We also noted they say it’s family style dining but do not serve family style portions. When I hear family style I think large enough portion for multiple people but it really was a normal sized meal for one. A large let down as the cost doesn’t match the portion. The drinks were not bad
