Bit awkward at arrival trying to figure out if you seat yourself or wait as there was no one at the stand. But the rest of the experience was EXCELLENT! Loved the outdoor covered seating, but the picnic tables are a bit snug for 4 people. All the food was SO good - the kids loved the chicken tenders. The waffle was yummy with plenty of fruit on top. The breakfast burrito and the super burrito were both amazing. Perfect flavor combinations. And the prices aren’t bad. Very good and quick service. Would DEFINITELY eat here again!

This was my first time here at Garden Cafe. It was truly a pleasant surprise. The garden and the atmosphere was just an awesome surprise! Decor and good music aside, I was more interested in how the food is going to taste like and if I was going to also be as pleasantly surprised about it as I was about the place in general. Happy to report that the food was also another great surprise. Delicious, flavors rich and well presented. Fresh ingredients and colorful presentation. I will be updating this review after my next visit as I would love to confirm consistency. So far I recommend this place

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ I had a wonderful experience at Garden Cafe. The food was fresh, comforting, and exactly what you hope for in a local café. What truly made our visit special was our waitress, Carol. She was friendly, attentive, and made us feel genuinely welcome from the moment we sat down. Carol checked on us often, made great suggestions, and kept everything running smoothly without ever feeling rushed. Great food, warm atmosphere, and outstanding service. We will absolutely be back, and we hope to be seated with Carol again. Highly recommend this spot if you’re in San Rafael!

So frickin good. Food is delicious. Even the basic egg plates, plenty of eggs and sausage and hashbrowns are delicious. Wife got the chorizo hash which was also great. Service was excellent, food was out quickly and coffee never went cold. Patio is super vibey, verdant, and lively. Five star establishment in every respect.
