I recently visited Rabalais Bistro in Santa Paula, California, and had an outstanding experience. The star of the meal was their shrimp Po’boy—perfectly seasoned, crispy, and overflowing with flavor. I also tried their fried green tomatoes, which were lightly battered, tangy, and absolutely delicious. The Mac and cheese was very delicious. My wife had the muffuletta sandwich was sooooo gooood! My son had the fried seafood sampler. That was worth every penny at only $34. Stopped by Rabalais’ Bistro while cruising through downtown Santa Paula and this place never disappoints. Great vibe right on Main Street and always a solid spot to relax. Today we kept it simple—grabbed a cappuccino and went all in on dessert. Had the banana pie, picked up a blueberry pie, and a carrot cake… all of it was excellent. You can tell they take pride in what they serve. I’ve eaten here before, but even just stopping in for dessert and coffee makes it worth the visit. Driving down main street is like stepping into a time machine. No chain stores, no chain restaurants. People speak to you walking down the street. Rabalais has a great small town vibe to it, great patio that is dog friendly. I especially liked the pastry case with all it had to offer.
