Update: hadn't visited in a few months; still fantastic. Holland's, I love you. I needed a happy place when I visit Suffolk, and I didn't have one until I visited Holland's. Nice, healthy variety of menu items, though I wish there was a chicken fried steak. I had the Thursday special, baked chicken. Came with dressing and two sides. Essentially a quarter chicken, with dressing and two sides, white or dark meat. Roasted well enough, so it came off the bone nicely. Most places remove the organs when they clean the chicken, but Holland's doesn't, and I like that organ-y, iron-y snack. Cam

Staff was so nice and the Christmas decor was so cute and homey. But the food was entirely unseasoned, there was almost no champagne in the mimosas, coffee was watery, and eggs were very overcooked. I ordered over easy and they came out well done.

You know, I kind of feel bad about this review. The staff and owner were as nice as can be, the atmosphere is really quaint and cozy, but the food was somewhere between alright and meh. Everything we had was bland. The meatloaf was dry and mostly bread, very similar to oily toast with ketchup. The hamburger steak, considering it was covered in a brown onion gravy, had no flavor. Nothing was good enough for me to want to go back. Unfortunately real southern food is hard to come by these days, and It would be nice if the people who do it , would do it right.
