My wife, a life long friend, and I went to the Hammond for a bucket list steak for me. I was anticipating a good steak the whole time. We were not disappointed. I believe that was the best steak I had ever had. I had the 11 ounce Filet Mignon which is a thick cut and hard to cook as ordered. The Chef did a perfect job, just the right color inside. Great taste. Highly recommended.

We chose this place bacause we were staying nearby. I did not have high expectations because from the outside it is underwhelming. But this place proves you can't judge a book by its cover. We were seated immediately and our server was fantastic. We started with walleye fingers which were thick and coated to perfection. Another appetizer of onion rings were hand breaded and crispy. The salad was decent as was the lobster bisque. For entrees I had sirloin steak and lobster. The steak was under seasoned but my son said this is wisconsin people dont like a lot of seasoning and you season to tast

The service here has been top notch for 40 years. They’ve made some changes since Covid, like paper napkins instead of cloth, and a roll served to you instead of the basket of them you used to get, but the quality has remained the same. They’ve kept their prices reasonable. The other night I actually had dessert after my prime rib, since it was my birthday, and the Banana Cream Cheesecake with a side of hot fudge was the best cheesecake I’ve ever had, bar none.
