Upon entry to the Ground Ops Roastery, we kept exclaiming our astonishment that we hadn’t been here yet, after driving by hundreds of times. At the very point where Monroe and Thomasville Rd converge, the GOR is a busy and attractive coffeehouse that begs you to sit back, have a snack and a cup of your favorite beverage and relax. The building itself is unique, offering interesting views of the steady flow of traffic below and even glimpses toward downtown Tallahassee and the Capitol area on a clear day. I went on a Sunday morning and there was a pretty long line and only one worker. I ordered a sausage egg and cheese roll, which was good. My other friend ordered a salted caramel pecan and it was also very good. On the other hand, the coffee was honestly really bad. My friends got lattes and they were extremely milky and my black coffee was extremely watery. I would only recommend getting food but not coffee.
