Mother of the salty meat lord. Where is it that you beamed me into this fine night? What is this? The best bean soup I’ve ever had in my life? For THREE DOLLARS??? No, it can’t get better than—-oh my glob, it’s a giant plate of French fries, meat, salad, and rice!!! Wait….what’s the up charge on this bread and olives? NOTHING?? The best Portuguese restaurant in Yonkers ! I have eaten here for 25 years and have NEVER had a bad meal. When you go, the dining room is not the entrance on Orchard street. The Orchard Street entrance is for the bar and only had a few tables in the back. The bar crowd are all regulars and nice folks but the upstairs bar is better left to them . The Myrtle Street entrance on the side of the building on the hill is the dining room entrance. You walk in and are greeted by the large fish tank. Thoroughly surprised and impressed with this hidden gem in an industrial part of town! Superb food (esp. the main dishes) , nice price, and great service in a family dining room kind of environment. It looks like they have a daily menu of specials, as we were handed a special menu for the Sunday that we visited. The paella was packed with delicious seafood and authentic flavors, and the chicken and ribs were juicy and tender. Everyone in our team loved it!
