The place is small however the food is excellent. There are a few tables for you sit in and enjoy a good meal.
Excellent food and customer service is great. Been going here for a few months now and still coming back. I love it here.
They served me days old bottom of the pot charred tasting mushy yellow rice. I took one bite and wanted to throw up. Im assuming they don't get yellow rice orders often, still shouldn't be a reason to sell people days old rice.

I dropped my review 1 star because of the following story: I enjoy the food here so i used to frequent here, until 1 evening i was taking photos and video to promote this place on my social media platforms. The woman taking care of me yelled at me, she told me it’s disrespectful to take video & photos of a business. I explained to her that i love the food so much i want to share it, she continued to talk down to me saying i’m a bad person and to never come back. My original post as follows: Quality, authentic Dominican Food. The best Dominican food in Yonkers!

Tasty and inexpensive Dominican food. I had a hankering for Spanish food, specifically rice, red beans and pernil (roast pork). I Googled and this place in Yonkers that looked promising. It’s a small place, limited seating, more of a takeout joint than a sit down, with lots of choices that they serve out from a steam table. Lunch specials (available all day) are around $10 each and the food is tasty. For $70, I picked up both a large and small red beans, a large rice and pigeon peas, a family size portion of pernil, a jerk chicken lunch special, a goat meat lunch special, sweet plantains, yucca with onions, flan and a passion fruit juice. That translated into enough food for at least 3 separate meals for my family of 3. It is hearty and filling and tasty and the staff is very helpful and friendly. Parking outside can be iffy, so best to call in the order and then double park and run in.

Wow, worst experience entering a restaurant in my life I tried to buy baked or chicken I don’t eat meat and they didn’t have any fish. There was only three more pieces of leg and thighs now and then I sit here and think about it why he didn’t want to sell it to me first he tells me each piece is three dollars I said fine can I get two pieces he asked me what I want on the side I said nothing I try to eat somewhat healthy I don’t want rice or beans then he tells me it’s eight dollars each piece if I’m gonna buy it as a side at the same time he’s trying to sell me el pollo guisado which I didn’t want because it look greasy as hell. Once again I’m trying to eat healthy long story short I had to walk out of there. The leg and thigh was so small. It looked like the size of a pigeon Mind you now they want me to pay eight dollars for that little piece.

The Parrot Restaurant in Yonkers is one of the best Spanish restaurants in the area. They offer amazing family meals at unbelievable prices. Unlike others, their food is incredibly fresh. For example, even the white rice tastes like it was made the same day. The beans are very well-seasoned, and when you order the bean stew, you'll be pleasantly surprised to find carrots and potatoes—ingredients often overlooked at many Spanish restaurants. Their empanadas are made to order, meaning they don't sit under a heat lamp; they are freshly prepared when you order them. The freshness and quality of their food are truly unmatched. Additionally, the variety of dishes they offer ensures that there is something for everyone, whether you are a meat lover or a vegetarian. All in all, this is definitely a go-to spot for good quality food at great prices. Last but not least, the staff is wonderful, including the guys who do the deliveries. They are always friendly, prompt, and ensure that your food

I was here at this restaurant one evening right after getting off of work and I didn’t know what to have for dinner so I figured I’d buy popcorn chicken so I told the lady I wanna order popcorn chicken so she was gonna give me crunchy pieces crumbs of God knows how long they’ve been there and the young gentleman asked. Do you want it fresh and I said yes so they went back there and they did it fresh for me so then I figured I’d get chicken soup so for those both things I got overcharged $30 I could’ve had a simple combo but instead they charge me separate. I walked out very unhappy and I think they’re so pricey but their food is good but I don’t think I’m going anytime soon
