“😐 Merci, Samarkand 😐 Service was good, but the food fell short. Sushi was okay, but vegetarian pizza lacked flavor and creativity. Mojito was underwhelming. Expected more from the menu. 🍣🍕🍹”

Karen Stahl★★★★★After touring round Uzbekistan for the last 8 days or so, I can tell you I was mighty happy to have a meal at Merci. We had a plate of delicious vegetables which we had been craving. It was a nice change from salad. My husband had a steak, I had a delicious plate of sliced fillet steak with potatoes and mushrooms in a creamy sauce. Top that off with a terrific waitress who spoke and understood our Aussie English, a great soundtrack (one of my fav songs came on as we were devouring this feast) and I was in heaven. Thankyou, or should I say Merci!
Aida Khasanova★I recently visited the restaurant "Mersi" in Samarkand and unfortunately, I had a very disappointing experience. The mojito I ordered was the worst I have ever had. It lacked flavor and was not prepared well. Moreover, the food was also not up to par. The bruschetta resembled sandwiches you would find at a gas station, and the salmon lox had a strong unpleasant smell. Additionally, the fried ravioli was priced higher than expected, especially considering it was served in a mediocre creamy sauce. To make matters worse, when I expressed my dissatisfaction with the mojito and refused to pay for it, the so-called manager refused to remove them from the bill. He argued that they had been sold and it would be shameful not to pay. This led to a lengthy discussion, during which the manager made offensive remarks, calling my actions shameless and referring to himself as a generous person who had bought me a drink. This behavior was absolutely appalling and left a very unpleasant impression. O
Claire Roosien★★★★★This is a gem of a cafe in downtown Samarkand. All the food I ordered off the extensive menu was fresh and well-seasoned, the staff were friendly, and the decor was really tasteful. The portion sizes were large, and the staff packed my leftovers into boxes — I ordered a lentil soup, a cucumber-tomato salad, and pesto pasta, and had enough for my dinner on the train back to Tashkent. There are good vegetarian options too, which is unusual for Uzbekistan. I will definitely visit the place again next time I come to Samarkand.

Anna★★★★★We had a wonderful experience here! Our waiter was a very polite and friendly young woman in a hijab, which made the service feel so warm and welcoming. The food was excellent and served quickly. The atmosphere is cozy and pleasant, and the place is very clean with a nice design. We ordered pizza and shakshouka. The pizza was soft and delicious, and I highly recommend trying the shakshouka for breakfast, it was very filling and tasty. The prices are also very fair.
