Christopher Wu★★★N Lee Bakery Tried the BBQ chicken bánh mì here. For me, I wasn’t the biggest fan of the BBQ chicken itself or the mayo used in the roll. I understand they’re in a more western environment and catering to that crowd, so the heavier, more intense mayo flavour makes sense, but it did overpower a lot of the other elements. I asked for chilli in the roll, but if it was added, it was almost non-existent. Honestly felt like it might have been missed. That said, for $10 the value is very solid. The portion of chicken was very generous, even though the texture leaned more towards mush rather than
Darren★★★★★Bbq chicken banh mi was excellent. Pate is very tasty and the bread was fresh. Viet ice coffee was only ok.
Craig Mcintosh★★★★★Best yummiest steak and onion pie I have ever had!!!! Absolutely mouth watering, delicious, exciting and thin pastry all round and nice and flakey on top. Perfect amount of meat inside and I sat there on the park bench in Napier Street Fitzroy this morning going to heaven while everyone was watching me!!!! Seriously, this pie is just perfect. You cannot improve it.
Jason★★★★★Great specimen. Ordered the combination pork with tiger roll. Was $10.80 but paid cash and became $9.80. Nice crisp outer layer for the tiger bread ($0.30 more) and soft in the middle. Meat had a nice peppery taste. Asked and for extra chilli and the kick was just right for me. They also have pickled onions which adds a nice sweetness to the banh mi. Only 3 tables outside for seating next to busy Smith Street. Gets pretty busy at lunch time.
