MacMohi Andrd★★★★★Please note, this is more than just a café, it's a living piece of cultural history! A visit to Café Tomaselli is no ordinary coffeehouse visit, but a fascinating journey into the past. At this historic place, you immediately feel that you are stepping into a true piece of culture and history. An absolute highlight is the living tradition on site: the waiters in tuxedos are exclusively responsible for the drinks, while the charming "cake lady" is responsible for cakes. The selection of cakes is simply dreamlike, and every single piece tastes absolutely delicious and masterfully prepared. Anyo
Tam Nguyen★★★★★This historic café sits on the corner of a spacious square in Altstadt. The interior beautifully preserves its old-world charm with traditional décor throughout, including a vintage newspaper rack near the entrance—a classic touch you’d expect from Austria’s old coffee house. Visiting in early spring, I and my friend were lucky to snag a balcony seat overlooking the square. My friend ordered eggs with schinken, which was perfectly seas
Enjoy life★★★★★Superb setting with its magnificent wood panelling with inlays adorns the walls and takes guests back in time, as do the marble tables, silver trays, waiters in dinner jackets and the cake ladies. Known as the oldest café in Austria which will take you back in the old days, when celebrities such as Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, Hugo von Hofmannsthal, Max Reinhardt and Herbert von Karajan frequented the Tomaselli. In fact, no other traditional café in Austria can look back on such a long history. Still family-owned today, it is a stylish representation of more than 300 years of Austrian coffee hou
HUANG Shao-C★★★★We visited Café Tomaselli because of its long-standing reputation and historical significance. The atmosphere truly lives up to its name — the interior has a charming old-world feel, and it’s easy to imagine the history that has passed through this café. Sitting inside and soaking in the ambiance was definitely the highlight of the visit. That said, the coffee and desserts themselves were fairly average and didn’t stand out in terms of flavor. We ordered based on the staff’s recommendations, but none of the items left a strong impression. Overall, it felt more like a place for the experience
