Urban Crave's BLT Crunch salad ($25+tax+tip) was somewhat enjoyable, which is fairly high praise for airport food. The elevated price is hard to swallow unless you can expense it. This place gets busy and loud because it's the only restaurant in US pre-clearance zone. Service from Ahmad was friendly and very competent — after waiting almost half an hour for my salad I waved him down and he recalled my order from memory, saying it would arrive very soon.

They wouldn’t let me sit at a table because I was just one person so they insisted I sit at the bar. I decided I didn’t want to give them my business so I grabbed something from the other store and watched as no one sat at the tables for the entire time until my flight boarded. To quote from Pretty Woman, Big mistake: huge! I was going to have a Meal and probably some wine, And they gave that money up! Glad they can afford to do that. I wonder how many people who are travelling are solo travellers. Ottawa is mostly a business flight airport to the US. They should probably figure it out…

Urban Crave – Ottawa Airport (US Preclearance Side) There’s a certain kind of disappointment unique to airport food. You go in with managed expectations. You know you’re not walking into a Montreal casse-croûte at 1:00 a.m. after a hockey game. You know compromises are being made somewhere between security screening and gate assignments. But when a place brands itself around “authentic street cuisine,” it invites a higher standard. Not perfection. Just honesty. Urban Crave misses that mark almost immediately. The first clue arrives too fast. Food that appears within moments of ordering in

I have never been served such a horrible poutine in my life. The server was kind enough to take it back and suggest the kitchens best. Even then, the chicken sandwich was sub-par, especially since I was charged $25 for it. Avoid this restaurant if you can, or at least stick to the drink menu.
