Dumpling King has been around since 1999, but in another location in the GTA. It specializes in Northern Asian Cuisine. I was someone else’s guest, when I visited this eatery this past weekend. The restaurant was busy, but not completely packed, the reason is the parking lot. There’s more cars than there are spots. One needs to be patient. The reason is this plaza is surrounded by well known restaurants. The food was delicious. I did noticed they sell frozen dumplings in a fridge near the front counter. Simple comfort food that offers a good variety of Dumpling options, soup, noodles. You come here for its good & reasonable price. It fills your tummy. The space is huge with high ceiling. You could see a chef making fresh dumplings on the spot. We ordered the "Shell Loan Bao", 6 of them steamy hot, with a nice red vinegar plate dip. For the daily special, there is a braised pork bone that offers at $2.99 CDN + tax (if order from 11:00 AM - 4:00 PM), if you order after 4:00 PM, same dish costs $4.99 CDN + tax (still pretty reasonable). Went on a Saturday, extremely busy plaza was full of cars. We ordered the special stewed pork back bone. Very tasty and meaty. We also ordered steamed dumplings and a pan fried dumplings and a beef roll. Service was very quick. All of the servers work so hard.
