We visited on Saturday and thoroughly enjoyed our meals. I had the Shrimp & Seafood Gratin (Coquilles de fruits de mer) and it was just as hearty and comforting as I had hoped. I really appreciated that there were options for our picky teenager as well such as pizza and sandwiches. For him, it's pizza, burger, repeat. Great value with prix fixe menu option as well which include a soup and dessert with your choice of 4 mains. There is construction on Rue de Buade in front of the restaurant. Do not let this deter you.

We had lunch. Wonderful full service, patient and flexible with combining menu items. The food was wonderful, rich, buttery, creamy textures that were perfect, cheese dishes braised wonderfully. The price value was excellent for the location, much less than all the other area restaurants. I would go back every trip to Quebec. Merci beaucoup!

Our dinner at Café Buade was absolutely memorable — the food was top notch from start to finish. The French onion soup was rich and deeply flavorful, easily one of the best we’ve ever had. The beef was incredibly tender and juicy, melting in the mouth with every bite. My salmon was cooked perfectly and seasoned just right. To finish, the apple pie paired beautifully with vanilla ice cream, a well-balanced and comforting dessert. On top of the outstanding food, the service was amazing — attentive, friendly, and made our first night in Québec truly special.

I almost didn’t try this place because of the reviews, but I’m really glad I did. The food was honestly delicious. Everything we ordered was fresh, full of flavor, and really well done. The pea soup was soooo yummy. It ended up being a great meal overall, and I’d definitely come back for the food alone. If you’re on the fence, I’d say it’s worth giving it a shot.
