We couldn’t have chosen a better place for our very first French meal in France than Le Restaurant Gril’Laure in Dijon. The long line of locals waiting outside was already a clear sign of how beloved this place is. We arrived just before noon, queued without a reservation, and were fortunate enough to be seated. A very special shoutout goes to Hanna, who made the entire experience exceptional. She was attentive without being intrusive, always checking on us regularly, ensuring we always had water, never rushing us to order, and offering helpful recommendations. Staff were absolutely incredible. Food missing the mark by far. Definitely edible. But for the price and what is described on the menu it misses the mark by far! If you’ve travelled Europe and had good food you will be disappointed by the food quality. Wine and kids menu was the best part of the night. Kids meals are €10. But €50 for a bottle of wine and €50 per adult for food we left disappointed. Overall, I would rate the experience good , but not anywhere near my expectations.

Service was excellent. Really enjoyed the escargot and foie grass starters. The rib steak was excellent, and you could taste the wood it had been cooked over. Great wine selection as well, and a really good creme brulee. A couple of issues; the 3 x skewers (beef, duck and chicken) were cut inconsistently so most were overcooked and pretty tough, and the Thai style pasta dish had overcooked pasta and could have used a bit more Thai flavor. Still had a great evening, and recommend.

Our favorite restaurant in Dijon. 2 meals over the 5 days we were in Dijon and they were both great! On our first visit, we had no reservation but were happily accepted and seated. I had lasagna and Lamb, my wife had a pizza and then the Salmon. Service was spot on.
