Lively and crowded—but that’s probably part of the charm of this place. We went during lunch hours and had to wait 30-40 minutes for a table. Because the place is small and packed, the staff works hard to keep things running smoothly, but service is still quite slow. However the atmosphere is pleasant, and the food is good. Definitely worth a visit if you’re at Marché Victor Hugo!

We had a spontaneous lunch on Sunday and luckily found a table right away. In my opinion these restaurants located directly in the covered markets are a true French experience. Adding to that the band playing outside helped creating a lighthearted and joyful atmosphere! Food was rather simple and very good. The quality of the meat in y beef tartar was excellent. As it was “non préparé” I was able to tailor it to my taste (all required seasonings were provided - shallots, câpres, Dijon, Tabasco, Worcestershire). As I’m a slow eater my fries got cold half way through, and the waiter offered me a fresh batch! Service was great, attentive, friendly and efficient. We sat at the terrasse with a nice view of the beautiful surrounding buildings.
