More than three decades ago, I used to visit my mother in Hamelin during school breaks. One of the memories that stayed with us was sharing plates of Italian pasta together because we could never quite decide on just one. Today we both visited Hamelin again, and La Fortuna gave that memory back to us. That alone was already special. Nice and cozy Italian restaurant with good quality traditional food. Lots of choice on the menu from traditional dishes like pasta and pizza to veal, beef, lamb, fish and cheese plates. All in all over 142 menu items to choose from. We started off with a mixed starter dish with different kinds of seafood and Bruschetta followed by veal and lasagne. The food was of high quality and tasted excellent. The restaurant is located in a traditional German house. In summer they also have a nice garden where lunch or dinner can be enjoyed.
