We had (again) an excellent dining experience at the Lübecker Hanse. The starter, the asparagus cream soup, was outstanding. It was rich, creamy, and full of fresh asparagus flavor—perfectly prepared and very enjoyable. For our main courses, we had the Wiener Schnitzel with mashed potatoes, cucumber salad, and lingonberries, as well as the plant-based steak served with mashed potatoes and vegetable strips. A really excellent meal. We booked a late table because of travel times, so we ended up being the last customer. The service was excellent, with very good English spoken. The food was excellent too as the waiter suggested excellent wines to go with the dishes that were very reasonably priced. The kitchen was a little slow because it was a trainee's first day, but that was explained to us very apologetically. It's a really nice interior too.

One of those happy occasions when you’re looking forward to eating at a restaurant and it exceeds your expectations. For me, this was the best dining experience I had on my recent visit to Germany. Good ingredients, of the season and region, cooked and presented with skill. The service was exceptional. It was formal but relaxed and friendly at the same time. Simply beautiful meal. Wonderful service, and innovative dishes. I don't normally choose vegetarian dishes, but the mushrooms were a great choice. Highly recommended, make a reservation soon!
