After a very memorable dinning experience at their sister outfit Kerala Quarters in Lower Parel we had high expectations from Taftoon. Unfortunately we came out pretty disappointed with overall flavours of the dishes we tried here. Everything had overpowering taste of garam masala, cardamom or saffron. Rather than giving unique flavour to the dish from different regions of India everything tasted meh-ish same same. Breaks my heart to say best things we had there was complimentary Kashmiri Kawa at beginning and delicious after mint at end. Everything inbetween was just forgettable! Ambiance is great, we sat on high chairs next to large windows. Staff was super polite and service was quick.

Went on mother's day with friends. Besides their regular welcome kahva a complementary mocktail was also served on account of Mother's day. Every dish we ordered had a unique flavour palette. The portion size is extremely small for the price though. The service was exemplary Unintrusive yet prompt. Definitely worth a visit on a special occasion though. Loved everything(except for the portuon size) about the place

Taftoon is a fantastic North Indian restaurant serving Afghani, Kashmiri and other regional cuisine. taking you on a Grand Trunk Road. Currently they are hosting a pagdandi festival which includes dishes from the desert of Rajasthan. We tried the delicious dahi ke kebabs. Crispy outside soft inside. The mirchi ke pakode were the best I’ve eaten. So so flavourful. Loved it. Dal Bati churma with ghee laden bati, garlic chutney, green chilli pickle, dal and onions, sweet churma.. a match made in heaven. I also tried the ker sangri with bajra roti. Loved it. Dessert was ghevar with rabdi.. not very sweet. Just how I like it. Overall a delicious meal altogether. Do try it.

I visited the Taftoon at BKC today with my mom. Since my dad had recommended this place to us, and we were quite looking forward to the experience. Considering it’s a fine-dining restaurant in BKC and known to be a popular spot frequented by celebrities, we expected a certain standard of service and food. Unfortunately, the experience was quite disappointing. We were not offered the Kashmiri Kava or the complimentary papad tray that is usually served. We had to request both ourselves, and throughout the meal we found ourselves repeatedly asking for basic things. At one point I asked for some curd, which arrived after about 10 minutes, and it was served in a large bowl that was later added to our bill. By the time we asked for the bill, the Kashmiri Kava we had requested still hadn’t been served. The food itself was also quite underwhelming. We ordered Chole Bhatura as a starter, which was okayish and edible but nothing great. For the main course we ordered Paneer Kofta with rotis.

Underrated restaurant alert!! The food, the staff and the vibe of the restaurant was toooo good. We ordered the chole kulche , and gulati kebab for starters and a murgh masala for main course. All of the food was extremely tasty and the chicken was cooked and seasoned so well. 10/10 experience. And special thanks to Javed who took care of our entire experience, he was such a sweetheart and guided us with the menu so well!(! I liked their mouth-fresher a lot and he packed some separately for me😭)
