The place is well decorated and got great service. Their wine list is pretty wide. We did discover a great bottle thanks to their sommelier. Lets talk about the important part. the food. Cena used to be run by a chef called Tomer, who I don’t like his food at all. so when I heard they changed to the chef that used to run Weiss (which I wanted to try), I knew I had to give it a try. Unfortunately, its was good but nothing better than good. Actually, many dishes were ok or worse. The Tartlet was nice but the fish tartare with smoked potato was tasteless. the beetroot with lamb was ok. tasted like beetroot kobe (just not as good as the kobe). the tortellini was horrible and extra salty (even the chef agreed). the Calamari confit was the best dish in my opinion but that was thanks to the corn bread which felt like a very sweet polenta cake with calamari. the only disappointment, was that the calamari was half grilled half fried. the fried ones worked better with the dish than the grilled o

I really don't like writing bad reviews, but this was a huge disappointment 😓 being a fan of Santa Katarina and reading all about the special brick oven that Cena has, I had really high expectations... Food was 3 stars at most ⭐⭐⭐ Come on, it's really hard to mess fresh dough that was just baked in the oven, right? Well it was OK, nothing more. Nothing like the Pizza that you would get at La Tigre or or Lila. We did want to try the Green Pizza, but they ran out of that Pizza?! so we had the Spicy Pizza, which was OK at most. The starter bread with Zaatar (Manaish) was OK too, but nothing to rave about. My favorite out of the dishes was the Spicy Tuna, which was tasty and had unique flavors. The Gnocchi was OK too. Unfortunately, we didn't like the Beef Saussage, as the sausage was dry and the grilled cabbage was missing any sort of flavor. Situated in the heart of Tel-Aviv close the Rothschield Avenue sits Cena. The ambience is lovely and relaxing. They do play some trance type music but it adds to the ambience. Food is not cheap but the dishes we ordered were small but tasty. I do find places in Tel-Aviv generally expensive, but the prices were not exorbitant. Service is fast and the servers are friendly. They have a nice cocktail menu and a variety of wines. The dessert was a chocolate mousse that was sweet and came with vanilla ice cream. Overall it was a nice experience.

Nice south Italian cuisine, slightly expansive. Calamari is super, black pasta is also good, pizzas are OK, sausage is also good. As usual in Tel-Aviv the green salad is overpriced, but the beet salad is still recommended, a good one. For desert we had a fantastic Tiramisu and lemon cream which were nice. Good wine choice, moderate price. Service in general was below average, not friendly. Luckily we had a very nice waiteress, but the rest of the team was arrogant and antipathic. The music inside the restaurant was way too loud, very unpleasant. We kept on asking to lower the volume, they did ... but after a minute got it higher again. It was extremely annoying.

We just had a lovely girls night here. I love that the food is simple, unfussy and incredibly tasty! For instance, the simple green salad was so light and refreshing, we ended up ordering two! Other highlights for us were the cacio e peppe pasta, risotto balls, green pizza, and artichokes - all dishes you can find in many restaurants around town but here they were elevated and executed perfectly! I'm not sure if this was a fluke or not, but the fact that we were able to get a table within three days of calling was a HUGE bonus for me. I've had it with this crazy trend in Tel Aviv where you can't get a table at a decent restaurant on a weekday without making a reservation a month in advance (to say nothing of the fact that when you do finally get in, the place is usually half empty). I did have to take one star off because even though the food and drinks were delicious and the service was great, I was HOT. I think it's maybe because part of the restaurant is a courtyard?
